The food tasted great. The salmon was cooked perfect! The BBQ shrimp appetizer was great also. It’s not really a BBQ taste but flavorful with hot spice to it. Delicious. I was scared to try it because it said BBQ but it was a delightful surprise. I tried the frozen old fashion drink. Tasty!

From start to finish, EXCELLENCE. Convenient, especially for downtown because it has its own parking lot, free of course. Owned by the Ruibals- and connected directly to Ruibal’s Plants via the outdoor area- it makes for more than just a dining experience. Taking a stroll through the nursery before or after lunch or dinner and you’ve got an entire date day without leaving the block. Photo ops too with all the beautiful plants and all of the antiques. I spy carved wooden heads with glass eyes :) I spy the most beautiful intricate cash registers :) and it goes on. We ordered the Lamb Chops + Brussels. My husband who doesn’t ever enjoy Brussel sprouts, ate them up. The lamb chops were so tasty, charred but juicy still. We ordered another round! We were very impressed with the chef. Who apparently came from one of the best restaurants in Dallas and brought all his talent to Bucket + Rope. Salads were heaping portions and they are mixed greens. Forget the cheap romaine mixes. These were fresh greens. We had 3 salads at the table- not a single wilted green got through. Plenty of toppings too. We got the steak too and it was so tender and flavorful. At first, you wish there was more of it but once you eat the fries and salad- you realize the portions are just right. Our service was great, they’re very attentive. Our drinks stayed topped off and even when the kiddos made a mess, they were helpful and had smiles while they cleaned up for us. The backyard area offers a space for the kiddos to move around a bit more with the turf and open air. No one minded their high energy and that was a big relief. It’s hard with kiddos to go to nice places without a little judgement, Bucket + Rope made us ALL feel welcome the entire time. We ended up spending nearly 4 hours there between the meal and wandering the nursery. Worth every penny and then some. Reasonably priced for the level of quality. We expected a much bigger price tag. We went back again the next week because we couldn’t wait to try some more.

This restaurant offered an authentic experience! It felt as if it’s the neighborhood go to spot on a Saturday. Everyone was welcoming. I tried the brisket risotto balls, which were very filling. I do wish there was a tad more brisket present. The raspberry chipotle sauce was amazing and paired well with the risotto. I enjoyed the grilled branzino, which was well portioned and seasoned. I paired it with a side of cheddar grits, which could use a bit more savory flavor. Overall I enjoyed dining here and look forward to returning.

We checked this place out recently for lunch and had a good experience. We were able to park in their designated lot at the time we visited. The location is cool in an old brick building. Our server was friendly and attentive. We started with the brisket balls. The raspberry chipotle jam paired well with the brisket. My wife had the spicy chicken sandwich and I had the burger. The portion sizes out match the price. They had a menu advertising happy hour specials and their dinner menu looked great online. We will definitely be back to try more items.

Bucket & Rope was such a fun place to watch a World Cup match! The atmosphere was electric, with everyone getting into the game and creating an awesome vibe. There were tons of food vendors to choose from, and everything we tried was delicious and very reasonably priced. The staff was also incredibly friendly and helped make the experience even better. My only suggestion would be to add some fans to the back patio. It was extremely hot, and without any air movement, I was absolutely drenched in sweat. Even a few large fans would make a huge difference. Other than that, I had a great time and will definitely be coming back for another game or just to chill with friends.

We celebrated our 42nd wedding anniversary here. Nothing disappointed us! Food was phenomenal as was the service, thank to Maria and Johnna! This restaurant is repeat worthy!
- Kimberly Eads (6 months ago):
As part of our quest to try the top 25 restaurants in Dallas, Bucket & Rope absolutely delivered—and then some. Every single dish we tried was a hit. The duck taquitos were packed with flavor, the blackened redfish was perfectly cooked, and the filet was tender and spot-on. The brisket balls were rich and crave-worthy, the tomato basil bisque and soup of the day were comforting and well-balanced, and the drinks were… let’s just say expertly crafted and very enjoyable. And dessert? The cinnamon roll cheesecake was the kind of finale you keep thinking about long after you leave. Unreal. What truly set the experience apart, though, was the service. The staff- Diana and Maria were incredibly attentive, warm, and welcoming, striking that perfect balance of professional and personable. To top it off, the owner, Victor came out to chat with us, which always says a lot about a place that genuinely cares about its guests. Outstanding food, exceptional service, and a welcoming atmosphere—Bucket & Rope has absolutely earned its spot on our Dallas must-visit list. We’ll be back.

We came from Ft. Worth. The place is quaint but we were comfortable. It was clean with no weird smells. Decorated nicely. Service was good. My husband got the shrimp and some type of tomato concoction for the appetizer. He said it was really good. And for his entree he got the breakfast quesadillas. I got the butternut squash soup and wasn't impressed. It didn't really taste like anything. Not even butternut squash. It was more watery than I'm used to from butternut squash soup. I ordered the Chicken fried chicken and it was ok. Nothing I'd order again. The grits were god-awful. I don't know what was in them but I did not like them. I wouldn't go back but I wouldn't tell others not to try it.
